About Us

It is a great honour to inform you that Bangladesh will be hosting 10th SAARC ENT Congress , from 25th To 28th November 2016, at the Krishibid Institution,Dhaka, organized by society of otolaryngologists and Head-Neck Surgeons of Bangladesh. The conference will gather eminent personalities from all over the world , so we would like to take the opportunity to invite you to participate in our event.

Bangladesh had the privilege of organizing the inaugural 1st SAARC ENT congress back in 1998, 6th SAARC 2008 and now Bangladesh will have the honour of organizing 10th SAARC ENT congress on her own turf once again. Considering the similarity and basic pattern of disease prevailing in the south east asia region, eminent ENT surgeons from the region, came together under one roof to form an united front, under the guidance of Prof. M. Alauddin with the intention of doing something constructive for the society. This has eventually led to the establishment of ‘SAARC ASSOCIATION OF OTOLARYNGOLOGISTS’. Initially the goal was share the knowledge among the specialists from this region but now in this age of globalization the ambition is much bigger. Our goal is to bring world class renowned ENT surgeons, from all over the world, in our event so that the knowledge can transcend all the barriers and reach out the great number of surgeons participating in the conference, who has the opportunity of creating a difference in the lives of ten others.

This congress is indented to provide a proper platform for the exchange of best medical practices implemented in the field of ENT and we believe it will provide enriching experience for all of our participants.

ENT surgeons of highest eminence will be conducting academic sessions. Participants will have the opportunity of gaining knowledge in the form of scientific sessions, lectures , panel discussion, video presentation.. In addition to the knowledge being generated from these sessions , the congress will provide a good forum for doctors build a good relationship among each other and strengthen old ties. Bangladesh is also home to the longest sea beach, the largest tea gardens and some amazing exotic animal life. The people of the country are colorful and friendly and have a fascinating culture..In addition to the congress, the country will never cease to amaze you with it’s natural beauty.

We truly hope that you will grace our show with your presence. Welcome to Bangladesh, Beautiful Bangladesh.

About SAARC ENT Congress

Considering the common demographics and disease pattern seen in the south Asian region, a few eminent ENT surgeons from SAARC countries under the leadership of Prof.Dr.M.Allauddin of Bangladesh Few other famous ENT Surgeons of SAARC countries met together to establish the SAARC Association of Otolaryngologists. The primary objective of this association was to generate and disseminate knowledge across borders and to build a cordial relationship among specialists in the region. It was decided to have a SAARC ENT congress every 2 years (falling on even years) in member countries on a rotation basis in the alphabetical order as a non- profit oriented event to meet these objectives. The inaugural SAARC ENT Congress was held in Bangladesh in 1998. 2nd and 7th SAARC ENT congress was in Nepal on 2000 and 2011, 3rd and 8th was at Pakistan 2002 and 2013. Srilanka was host of 4th and 9th SAARC ENT congress on 2004 and 2014. 5th SAARC ENT Congress held in India on 2006.Other than 1st Bangladesh organized 6th Congress in 2008.Now this year 10th SAARC ENT Congress will be held at Dhaka on 25th to 28th November,2016. Many organization/Associations after the name SAARC were formed later. Medical specialty is no exemption . There are many SAARC associations in medical field according to the specialty However, in ENT it took many years to form a SAARC ENT Association.

About Congress City, DHAKA

Dhaka, is the capital and largest city of Bangladesh. It is located in the geographic center of the country in the great deltaic region of the Ganges and Brahmaputra rivers. Dhaka was founded during the 10th century. It served as the Mogul capital of Bengal from 1608 to 1704 and was a trading center for British, French, and Dutch interests before coming under British rule in 1765. In 1905 it was again named the capital of Bengal, and in 1956 it became the capital of East Pakistan. The city suffered heavy damage during the Bangladesh war of independence (1971). The romanized spelling of the Bengali name was changed from Dacca to Dhaka in 1982. Bangladeshis are mad about cricket. Dhaka is home to the national stadium and many of the country's top stars; cricket is played everywhere: alleyways, parks, roads and even rooftops.
